Handy market needs Earth

The mobile industry remains a hot plaster: With Sanyo again a manufacturer of mobile phones is in the crisis. The search of the mixing company for a strategic partner for this section is characteristic for a market, at which it is enough only for the large ones for surviving.

DUESSELDORF. On that hard becomes increasingly difficult it contested market of the Handy manufacturers for small offerers. In the past years the thick ships of the industry won increasingly market shares - at expense of the small competitors. If this a niche do not find, in which they can attack the large, have they no chance to often survive.

Thus the taiwanesische manufacturer BenQ insolvency on announced one year after it the section of the German Siemens company had taken over in the past autumn. At present the Japanese electronics company Sanyo considers whether it is to deliver its schwächelndes Handy business. The profit of Sanyo had broken in from April to June by 72 per cent - particularly because of the sluggish Handy demand.
